There are many reasons why some of us have a desire to take ourselves out of regular suburban life. My wife for one was not content with how thing are in the 'super developed' human race. Her constant questioning and desire for a more fulfilling life caused me to ponder my own quiet discontent with 'the way things are.'
In July 2006 I followed my childhood dream of being a sailor and as a total beginner thought it would be a good idea to buy a boat!
For over two years I lived aboard and cruised with my wife Monique and our four children Aidan, Noah, Amelie and Channan. It was the most amazing, challenging and rewarding life experience. For a time we all lived abundantly where each day felt full and different rather than fading into the obscurity of routine. So go! throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour, explore, dream and discover.
